How AI & New Tech Are Changing Online Broadcasting

Ever since the start of the 21st century, the world of broadcasting has been in flux. From the rise of YouTube and similar platforms to the world of streaming, it's almost impossible to keep up with all the latest innovations. Just think back to the early 2000s, when people would 'stream' using those cheap webcams that provided pixelated, poor-quality images. Things have changed since then, right?

The world of live streaming opened up the opportunity for people to make a name for themselves in many different fields. From people broadcasting live streams of them watching sports or playing video games to masturbation sex cams, live streaming gave everyone the chance to be a television star in their own right – and with the chance to coin in thousands, even millions, of dollars in revenue if they did it right.

Now, though, there is a new competitor on the scene: artificial intelligence (AI). At one stage, broadcast media were the realm of professionals only; you had to get on TV to be seen in such a way. Now, online broadcasting is possible for anyone willing to invest a few bucks into a camera and mic set.

What Made Online Broadcasting So Popular?

So, part of the rise, we believe, in online broadcasting comes from choice. Think back briefly to the old TV boxes people used; you could spend hours every week just channel-surfing. Trying to find something to watch that appeals to you. Often, you'd find yourself just watching something – anything – to pass the time. Online broadcasting made it easier for people to fill specific gaps.

Instead of having to wait for a TV show to come on when the broadcasters permit, online shows are bespoke. They have a target audience in mind and a specific point to address. They can be streamed live and later re-uploaded for on-demand viewing. As such, it was easier for people to find what they wanted to watch, right? That meant it was easier for people in the online broadcasting world to carve out a small but still significant niche for specifically targeted content.

The same goes for sex cams, too. People used to need to invest in porn magazines or DVDs from adult stores. Many people would feel too embarrassed to do so, or to order the adult TV package as part of their TV contract. Online broadcasting, though, meant that performers could now head online and create the content they wish. What turns them on? What turns their audience on? Now, with nothing more than a camera and a hosting platform, they could create their own sex content!

The ability to address specific audiences and create targeted content turned online broadcasting into a new entertainment medium. That means more opportunity, but also more competition. Now, though, the competition isn't just other humans – it's digital.

Why Is AI Having An Impact On Online Broadcasting?

AI is having a pretty major impact on online broadcasting for two reasons:

1. Relative to the cost of hiring broadcasting talent and production teams, AI can be put together for a fraction of the price – in many cases, it's borderline free to create.

2. Instead of having to find talent to create specific content, AI prompts allow for anything to be generated in next to no time, meaning it's easy to meet content demands.

This is especially true in the world of sex cams, by the way. AI adult content can be created quickly and easily, and the quality of the output is getting better by the day. That means it does not take long for someone to generate on-demand content. In fact, many AI sex cam-like systems can be created to essentially do what the user prompts – that means the only limitation is the viewer's imagination.

Generative solutions like this are having a massive impact on online broadcasting. People who create content for a specific audience need to take the time to do so. Even in the context of live sex cams, they need to, well, perform! That takes time, energy, and obviously, there is the sexual recovery side of things; even the best performers need time off to recover and heal.

AI? That isn't quite so impacted by these issues, is it? It can run 24/7 and do whatever the user or audience asks of it. That's a worry for many performers, especially those who rely on online broadcasting and sex cams to make a living.

Will AI Replace Online Broadcasting & Sex Cams?

Sadly, it looks like there is little to stop the rise of AI in this context, but there will (hopefully) always be a space for real, human performers to do their thing; there's something more satisfying about watching a real person get off than there is watching what amounts to a set of fake pixels doing the same thing!

Like many new technologies, AI is still relatively fresh. People still see it as zany and unique, so that makes it easier for this technology to draw interest. As time goes on, though, there is likely to be pushback; if nothing else, humans are very good at wanting what they cannot have, right?

Is AI here to stay in online broadcasting? Probably, at least in the medium term. Can it replace the full experience, especially in the adult entertainment world? It's hard to say, but we would lean towards no.
